How safe is to have a calcium score of zero

Zero coronary artery calcium (CAC) is associated with lower risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). According to the guidelines this is a cheap, accessible and low-radiation diagnostic test that is mostly suitable for individuals with a family history of coronary artery disease. Ideally a male in the age of 40 and a female in the age of 50 with a high-risk cardiovascular profile should proceed with a CAC score test.
But what should clinicians recommend to those whose arteries are clear of calcium build-up and present with a calcium score of zero (0)?
According to a study, maintaining all preventive measures (diet, exercise, optimal values of blood pressure, glucose and lipids) is possible to retain low calcium score for more than a decade.
As a conclusion, zero calcium score is reassuring for the overall cardiovascular risk but still patients’ motivation for healthy lifestyle should be reinforced.
